WHAT IS OSTEOPATHY

These are some of the most common conditions that patients seek help for. Back and Neck Pain, Sciatica, "Disc" injuries, Sports Injuries, Tennis/Golfer’s elbow, Shoulder Conditions, Headaches of mechanical origin, Osteo-Arthritis especially that of hip and knee, Joint stiffness, Lower limb mechanical pain, Exercise related musculoskeletal pain, Work-related postural pain, Muscular tension and strain.

Osteopathy is a way of detecting and treating injured parts of the body, using a variety of techniques tailored to each individual patient, where the injury involves damage or strain to muscle, ligaments, nerves or joints. Problems can occur when the balance between these individual components is compromised.

The osteopath's job is to diagnose and treat faults that occur in this mechanical system due to injury, stress, or any other cause and to ensure that it is functioning as efficiently as possible.

Osteopathy has now been recognised as a primary healthcare system, complementary to other medical practices. It is suitable for almost anyone and can contribute to alleviating an enormous range of conditions, by working through the neuro-musculo-skeletal system, each treatment carefully selected by the osteopath to suit the individual.

Another important principle of osteopathy is that your body has its own self-healing mechanism, which can be utilised as part of the treatment. Osteopathy is used to treat a wide variety of complaints - please contact us to discuss your needs...
